The 2026 Isese Day Celebration in Igbogbo Kingdom on Thursday, was not all about showcasing of culture, traditional values and heritage of Igbogbo people, but also provided an avenue for education and enlightenment for stakeholders in the traditional setting of the community.
At the celebration held at the Adeboruwa Palace, the Adeboruwa – in – Council and leadership of the traditional institutions in Igbogbo Kingdom, warned traditional chiefs against usage of royal paraphernalia like beaded crown, horsewhip, walking stick and shoes which are exclusively for the royal fathers.

The Executive Chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Omo’ba Hammed Aroyewun joined the Adeboruwa -in- Council and other traditional institutions in the celebration.
Odofin of Igbogbo, Odofin Tajudeen Alade Onasanya, led other members of Adeboruwa -in – Council to the celebration with His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, away in the United States of America.
Stakeholders in the traditional institutions in the kingdom were informed by the Baba Isegun of Igbogbo who spoke on behalf of the institution that the laws prescribed two years each for the violations of the offences.

”We are asked to always educate and enlighten ourselves during Isese Day gathering like this.
”It is only the monarch that law permits to wear crown, use beaded walking stick, horsewhip and shoes, and no other traditional chief is allowed to use those paraphernalia of office.”
”Anyone caught impersonating or using these paraphernalia will be prosecuted and the law prescribed two years each for each count, ” he warned.
He cited an instance of a pending case of someone who called himself Olu Ogboni, caught around Ikeja who is now remanded at Panti Police Station while his matter is pending.

He enjoined stakeholders to adhere strictly to the rules especially as related to the use of royal paraphernalia:
”We only have one king in Igbogbo Kingdom who is entitled to use all these paraphernalia of office and we must all respect the culture and traditions by adhering strictly to the rules.”
At this year’s celebration were different traditional institutions – Osugbo, Eleluku, Alagemo, Oloro Abosan, Oloro Meri, Oloro Olu-Odo, Babalawo, Oniyewa, Alasa, Ogun, Turuku, Igunuko, and Ogboni among many others who joined the Adeboruwa-in- Council in paying homage to the Adeboruwa in his absence.

The Apena of Igbogbo, Chief isiaka Oladipupo Yusuf, led the special prayers for the Adeboruwa, IBLCDA council chairman, Lagos State, Nigeria among others.
There were also traditional displays by Egungun masquerades, Asa among others.
